Shark River Production Notes

As with our last film, we centered the story in our beloved home state of New Jersey. We returned to the sandy grit of the shore, filming in Asbury Park, Wall, Ocean, Belmar, as well as finding beauty in the lesser known backroads and inlets of the Garden State.

As a writer, I always had an affinity for road movies like Easy Rider and The Warriors - movies that took place within a small frame of time but that allowed the heroes some space to move around - to see more of the world than they anticipated when their stories began.

Maybe it is because we live these cramped lives now, always connected, that I came back to this genre again and again, and that Shark River found its place here, on the road.
